If you want to know my secret to staying young and living in a complete fantasy it's listening to EDM. This week's session I want to introduce you to the genre you'll probably get the most recommendations from me on.
And I want to highlight women who are creating worlds that are holding up mirrors to find ourselves in. Tons of people use music to escape, but I think these women are creating music that asks more of us.
I wish more of these women were headliners at major fests.
Trust me, every single time I go and dance to a girl, gay, or they-led set it's a top-tier experience.
I was inspired by this week's album, which the artist inspired and coined Girl EDM.
But to be clear…
These women aren’t a subgenre, they’re the genre
If you're a dude, just fucking tap in.
You won't regret it.
Play it in order. I made it that way :)

A Love Letter for I LOVE MY COMPUTER
This one's for anyone who's ever felt more like themselves alone with a screen than in a crowded room.
In a society that’s addicted to our phones, being force fed AI slop, and is living in…
“UNprEcEDeNTed TImEs iN OUr DIGitAL LaNDScaPe”
Ninajirachi comes in and says I love my computer so much I want to fuck it.
And the concept as a whole is just freaking brilliant.
Like we have the world at our fingertips through our phones and she’s brave enough to say I’m creating music, my computer is to blame, and I might not sing good. But it’s all me.
PUUUHHHHLEASE listen to this one front to back. It flows effortlessly and beautifully from track. There are some amazing sounds that shipped me back to 2016 Porter Robinson vibes.
The world building is absolutely insane.
A roomie suggested I tried listening to an album with my eyes covered and with headphones on.
This is the album I tested it on.
And I would’ve never imagined my mind would blast off like it did.
It feels like I got sucked into my computer and was traveling through it like freaking hyperspeed in star wars.
That’s how good this music is.
I only found out about this album like 4 months ago.
And it wasn’t some algorithmic discovery. Homegirl was recommended by a Curator I’ve been following for a minute.
Get this. The Album was released in 2025 I barely discovered this in 2026.
She announces a tour to run this show back and I got tickets in November to see her.
I’ve never in my life snatched up a ticket so quick. BTW these ticketmaster wars are ridiculous, but I digress.
The body of work as a whole will go down as one of the best electronic albums of our time.
I want to go track by track, but this is where shit gets personal for me…
The standout on this album is “Ipod Touch” obvi…
This song is the anthem for all gatekeepers everywhere. I fucking wish I still had my Ipod nano, let alone the Ipod touch lol.
To find the music library that would’ve time traveled me back to much simpler times.
SHE FUCKING GETS IT.
It transitions smoothly into “Fuck My Computer” and the lyric “It knows my name and no one in the world knows me better” talk about some social commentary when AI is basically peoples brain and false connection.
Genuinely, a song that captures this album’s thesis.
NO NOTES.
“Delete” spoke directly to my hopeless romantic. Like yeah I posted that explicit pic, posted that song on my story, and things that you’d like to get your attention.
Like, I know I’m not the only one posting shit in hopes of finding a love. Or even a hookup. SHEEESH.
Eh, eh, eh, yеah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh 🎤😫
When you listen to “All I Am” It is the earworm of this album but also just stunningly beautiful music.
I’ll close out with one of my faves “Infohazard” which reads like a warning to discovering something on your computer that strips you of the innocence you once had.
It lives in that ethereal realm and Ninajirachi soars down and flaps open her wings like an angel coming from the heavens to warn you of what’s going to happen.
Anyways this isn’t the last you’ll hear of Ninajirachi from me.
See you in the pit in November, still not over my computer.
If this moved you...
This is the kind of thing that lands in your inbox every Thursday — five songs to sit with, one album worthy of a love letter, sent by a person, not an algorithm.
Join TLR Sessions to get the next one before anyone else.
